2. Sell Stock Photos

If you have a knack for photography, why not try selling your most exceptional work online? 3. Create and Sell Digital Products

If you have a wealth of knowledge on a particular topic, why not condense it all into one easy-to-consume format, such as an e-book or e-course?  You won’t need a blog or website to host it–all you’d need to get started is a landing page to build your email list or send people to where they can purchase your product. You could even supplement your marketing with social media; create dedicated Facebook and Instagram accounts to build authority on your topic and get the word out.

Drop shipping is considered by some to be the easiest way to start an online business! Drop shipping is a way of selling goods online without ever handling the merchandise yourself. 6. Offer VA Services

A VA, or Virtual Assistant, helps business owners with a wide variety of online clerical work, such as organizing and responding to emails, research, data entry, bookkeeping, scheduling, and more. The type of work a VA performs will depend largely on the needs of their employer. Professional bloggers might need their VA to create and curate content for social media, respond to social media followers, or update blog posts in WordPress. A Social Media Manager has specialized skills on one or more prominent social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, or Twitter. Online businesses rely on these channels for marketing purposes and will pay good money to someone who can help maximize their efforts. Goals of a Social Media Manager include increasing organic reach, growing a following, developing content strategies, and analyzing results of paid advertising campaigns.

8. Proofread and Edit

If you have a keen eye for detail and a gift for perfecting others’ prose, perhaps proofreading and editing is the online job for you. If you have little professional experience in this area, it might be a good idea to start building a portfolio of work on sites like Fiverr, Upwork, and Freelancer. With the right experience, this kind of work can be very lucrative (up to $25 per hour!) while allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.

10. Monetize a Social Media Account

You know those Instagrammers you always see posing with bags of potato chips, gummies for hair growth, or lounging in beautiful resort hotels? Many of these digital “influencers” don’t have blogs of their own–they simply leverage their social media following to nab sponsorships and comped travel experiences. While this certainly isn’t the easiest way to make money online, it can be done. Focus on building authentic engagement with a targeted audience, and you’ll be well on your way to joining the ranks of “micro-influencers” everywhere.

Hey Leah – great post! I’m wondering, do you have any experience yourself with selling photos to stock sites? I keep hearing so much about it, but yet don’t know anyone who does it. It seems like if its really that easy though, we would all be doing it. We travel. We take nice photos. Why wouldn’t we all make money from it if we could, right? I guess I feel like there is a catch I’m not seeing.
    Thanks!

Hey Brittany! I don’t think selling stock photography is as easy as just uploading photos to a site and getting sales. Those sites have pretty high standards and many photography enthusiasts’ work probably isn’t up to snuff, to be honest. For the talented few and for professional photogs, it’s definitely possible to earn some extra money this way. I might give it another go in the future and I will be happy to report back with the results!

Everyone is busy trying to make money off blogs that this article really is a breath of fresh air. Not everyone
needs a blog to make money and selling stock photos is a great option. Wasn’t even aware of the drop
shipping store option so will explore that and being a VA or proof-reader is something that can easily be
done on the move. Great list with lots of helpful pointers.

Great list. I am a freelancer who is switching gears. Always looking for something new. I’m not a fan of the surveys. I think they have their place, but not profitable. I’m in the VA freelancer/moving into writer space. 🙂

These are all great ways to make money online. I dabble in a bit of freelance writing and am also a pinterest account manager on the side. I found most of my work on Upwork and PPH but picked up a few gigs on facebook groups too. I like having something to rely on while I’m travellinh until the day my blog starts making me some money!

I’m really thinking about number 3. I’m not sure how much should you know about a topic before you can ride about it? Where can you find number 8. I should have one of these for my important post, since English is my second language and I’m troubled with dyslexia. This is a great post! A bit more than just affiliate links.
