Friday Snapshot: Fishing Boat on Koh Phangan

Friday Snapshots: Bringing you travel inspiration just in time for the weekend. Have you bought your ticket yet?
A beached fishing boat rests on the shore of Koh Phangan, Thailand. Quote by Ernest Hemingway.

The island of Koh Phangan in the Gulf of Thailand often gets a bad rap as a party island overrun with drunken tourists.  Once a month on the night of the full moon, a small part of the island may fit this description as revelers come from all over the world to celebrate the infamous full moon parties–but venture even just 20 minutes away from Haad Rin and you’ll encounter serene, undisturbed beaches and a more traditional way of life.  A large portion of the island is much lesser-known to tourists and can provide a relaxing escape from Southeast Asia’s typical party scene.
