Friday Snapshots: A Week’s Worth of Hawaiian Adventures

Aloha, friends, and happy Friday!

This week has been jam-packed with outings all over Maui.  The Hawaiian islands are truly paradise for die-hard outdoor enthusiasts, and I just happen to be traveling with two of them.  So as you can imagine, there hasn’t been much downtime between one adventure and the next.  In fact, I’ve resigned myself to working primarily in the early mornings and late at night just to keep up.

So far this week I’ve visited beaches, explored the town of Lahaina, woken up at an ungodly hour to catch the sunrise on top of a volcano, and enjoyed more than my fair share of incredible sunsets.

And the adventures won’t stop there–today we’re off on a whale-watching tour and we’ve got potential snorkeling and kayaking excursions in the pipeline for next week.

The best part?  I’ve been able to capture the fun with my new GoPro Hero4 Session, the newest, smallest, and (according to GoPro) “most stoked” camera yet.  Keep your peepers on the swivel for new videos coming your way soon–I’ve got some great footage and I’m excited to share it with you.

In hindsight, I’m not sure how I ever deluded myself into thinking this week would be relaxing in any way.  It has been anything but relaxing, but I’m grateful for so much unadulterated family time and the opportunity to explore more of this beautiful island, which I scarcely remember from my previous visit when I was just 15 years old.

Anyway, much, much more to come, but I hope you enjoy this sneak preview in the meantime!  Aloha!

Somehow my vacations are never relaxing either… I think it’s just impossible for me to sit still for too long.

Also – that last shot? Incredible!

Was that shot of you and your mom taken with your new GoPro? It’s so great! I was never impressed with my Hero 3 and it’s having some problems right now, but I’m hoping to get it fixed ahead of some upcoming snorkelling adventures here in Australia 🙂

Thanks, Zascha! It totally was! The near-frostbitten fingers were even worth it 😉
