Ah hoping to visit a friend there in January and haven’t started my research yet! She will be based on Palawan all I know is that so my planning should start soon. The island is bigger than I imagined too, I think she’ll be 5 hours away from the airport. What is the best way to get around – bus?

Bus is the best way. The island is quite big, so it could take half a day or more to get anywhere. Most of the interesting towns are in the northern half of the island, and some are not that far from each other, so you can town hop quite easily!

Great reasons to go! I loved Palawan when I was there for about 2 weeks or so. It’s such a beautiful place, and it wasn’t so crowded when I went in 2013!

2 weeks on a tropical island sounds absolutely divine! I really hope to make it one day soon 🙂

I hope you do make it soon! They often say that the Philippines is the last frontier for beaches in Southeast Asia, and I think although the beaches in Palawan are not as pretty as Boracay (although I haven’t been), Palawan might be the last frontier within the Philippines in terms of development.
