Greetings once again from Stockholm, Sweden!
This week I’ve been holed up indoors much of the time, for no good reason other than I’ve finally come into a creative groove and have been feeling extra motivated to make changes and improvements to the blog (perhaps you noticed my new logo…what do you think?). I suppose the other reason is that I’m back in the grips of Swedish winter after a week in relatively warm London and I’m struggling to face the freezing reality.
In any case, I’m happy to say that it has been a super productive week, and slightly less happy to say that I didn’t do much photographing. On the bright side, I’ve got a handful of iPhone photos I’ve collected over the past few months on outings when my real camera stayed at home (runs, trips to the grocery store, etc) and I’m going to use this as an opportunity to share them here, as they may never have been seen otherwise!
I keep gushing about how sunny the Swedish winter has been because it is a big change from the Washington winters I’m used to. No offense, Washington, but I’ll take these beautiful blue sky winters over your grim gloom any day. And I’ve become quite attached to my neighborhood here in Kungsholmen–I routintely take walks along the waterfront just to admire the scenery, which changes with each new stage of winter.
If you haven’t seen any evidence of the beauty of Swedish winter yet, just have a look at these photos, collected from around Stockholm.
Isn’t Swedish winter just gorgeous? Have a great weekend, and stay warm!
