The warmth of the morning sunlight dances across your face as you cast a quick glance at your phone. 9:15 am. Lazily, slowly, you stretch yourself fully awake and roll out of bed.
You don’t miss your alarm clock one bit.
As you put on a pot of coffee, you glance out the window at your surroundings–a new month, a new city. This time, you’re on an island off the coast of Spain. As for next month, your options are limitless–Paris? Prague? Bali?
The choice is deliciously yours. You can go where the wind–or opportunity–takes you.
Your friends at home grumble about how “lucky” you are, and regularly threaten to unfollow you for posting photos of places they ache to see, experiences they yearn to have.
But you know how hard you work every single day for the lifestyle you’ve created.
You know it’s not luck, it’s choices.
You sit down with your steaming cup of liquid productivity and get started on the day’s tasks. You work for yourself–or at least, on your own schedule–so there’s a distinct lack of stress as you chip away at your to-do’s.
You take breaks as needed, to reboot your creativity, get your blood flowing, or when you just want to check out that cute local cafe for lunch.
You feel in complete control of your days and your work. You travel the world on your terms, at your pace.
Sound like a dream?
It was mine, too.
“Living the life of your dreams isn’t about luck. It’s about choices.”
My name is Leah and I’m the founding editor of The Sweetest Way, a travel and lifestyle blog that focuses on helping others create their best life.
It took me a number of years and a whole lot of soul-searching to realize I was never going to be satisfied living a life in which I wasn’t 100% in control.
I didn’t fit into the corporate work structure, and conforming to a 9-5 schedule left me feeling ragged and uninspired at the end of every day.
Something had to give.
So a little over two years ago, I made a choice.
A choice to take my life back.
With a little bit of savings and not a lot of ideas, I set out to create my perfect life…
…a life of location independence.
A travel blog, a consulting business, and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears later, and I’m happy and free as I’ve ever been.
As a freelancer and entrepreneur, I craft my days how I see fit. I find the time every day for practices that feed my body and soul–things like yoga, healthy eating, and meeting new people.
What I’ve achieved over the last few years has been no insignificant feat, and my life is most certainly still a work in progress, but I’m encouraged by the growth I achieve each and every day, however small.
What I’m most excited by, though, are the people I’m able to help and inspire on their own journeys to location independence.
Which is precisely why I decided to put all of my hard-won knowledge together in one comprehensive resource–to provide others with the guidance I never had when starting out.
Location Independence, Step-by-Step
Take Your Life Back: Finding Freedom Through Location Independence is a collection of resources, interviews, and practical advice designed to help those wishing to break free from the 9-5 lifestyle.
The information contained in this location independence eBook is a combination of my real-life experience developing a sustainable online business and curated tips from other digital nomads and dreamers from diverse backgrounds.
Each chapter comes complete with stories, tips, and actionable steps to take to start creating the life of your dreams today.
Leah has created a useful guide full of information to help you along the path to creating your own remote lifestyle where you can earn from the road. I like the real life examples Leah uses as well as other experts offering their thoughts on the subject too. It’s all golden information without any fluff, just real practical advice you can gather a lot of takeaways from. This is a blueprint inspiration guide for anyone looking to kick start their own lifestyle.
This resource is particularly useful to those unsure of where to begin on their journey to location independence but also provides supplemental knowledge and inspiration to those already living theirs.
More than just empty promises that “anyone can do it,” this book implores readers to take action and gives them the exact steps to follow to start making progress immediately.
Get sound advice on building an online presence that will be integral to your success, learn the right way to go about networking and why it’s so vital in this digital world, and learn where to find the support and guidance you need, no matter which path you choose.
What I appreciated most was this book was so much more than fluffy quotes and the cry to ‘Quit your job to travel whoo!’ I found real, practical advice about how to run an online business, useful and diverse examples alongside very clear, supportive information and resources. The amount of research and support materials makes it useful for anyone looking to take control of their career and lifestyle balance, not only through location independence. An extremely valuable resource that has given me a sound kicking to shift my work habits!
I devoured Leah’s book in an afternoon–it’s full of practical information not only on how to setup a location independent life, but more importantly how to master your business and income in a way which will help you to actually sustain your hard-won independence. Leah writes in a personal, open way and she has inspired me to take the next step on my journey. I’d recommend this book for anyone setting up an online blog or business, even if you’re not sure if you want to be location independent or not yet. Enjoy!!
